Privacy Notice

Last updated: 30 July 2026

1. Who we are

This privacy notice explains how Guillotine Agency Limited ("Guillotine", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects personal data, and sets out your rights under UK data protection law.

Guillotine is a specialist influencer relations agency for the video games industry, based in North Wales, United Kingdom. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

This notice applies to personal data we process when you: visit or interact with guillotine.agency (our "website"); are a content creator whose details are held in our creator relationship management system, The Keep; are a contact at a studio, publisher or other organisation we work with; enter into a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or other contract with us; or otherwise correspond or do business with us. We refer to all of the above collectively as our "Services".

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to anyone under 18.

2. Contact details

If you have any questions about this notice, or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at:

Email: hey@guillotine.agency
Post: Guillotine Agency Limited, 45 City Rd, Chester CH1 3AE

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please contact us before approaching the ICO.

3. The data we collect

Personal data means any information from which a living individual can be identified. We collect different categories of data depending on your relationship with us:

If you visit our website: technical data such as IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, time zone, and how you interact with the site; and any information you provide when you email us or make an enquiry.

If you are a creator held in The Keep: identity and contact data (name, channel or handle, and contact details where provided or publicly listed); platform data (publicly available information about your channels and content, such as subscriber and follower counts, view counts, engagement metrics and content categories, obtained from public sources and third-party platform APIs including YouTube and Twitch); and relationship data (our notes on past and potential collaborations, campaigns, coverage, and your stated preferences).

If you are a client or business contact: identity and contact data (name, job title, employer, email, telephone); and transaction and relationship data (details of projects, campaigns and correspondence between us).

If you enter into an NDA or other agreement with us: identity and contact data (name, role, organisation, signature); and contract data (terms agreed, dates, and records of signing, which may be held via our e-signature provider).

We do not collect special category data (such as data about health, race, religion, sexual orientation or political views), and we ask that you do not provide it to us.

4. How we collect your data

We collect personal data directly from you (when you email us, make an enquiry, agree a contract, sign an NDA, or otherwise interact with us); automatically (when you use our website, through cookies and similar technologies); and from third parties and public sources. In particular, for The Keep, we collect publicly available creator and channel information from platforms such as YouTube and Twitch (including via their public APIs) and other publicly accessible sources, in order to research and identify creators for campaigns.

5. How and why we use your data

We only use your personal data where the law allows. The lawful bases we rely on are: legitimate interests (running and growing our agency, including researching and identifying creators, maintaining our creator database, managing campaigns, and marketing our services to businesses; where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights); performance of a contract (to deliver services, manage campaigns, and administer NDAs and other agreements); legal obligation (to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax and accounting duties); and consent (where we ask for it, for example before sending certain marketing communications; you can withdraw consent at any time).

Specifically, we use personal data to: research, identify and evaluate creators for potential campaigns (The Keep); contact creators about relevant opportunities and manage those relationships; plan, run, measure and report on influencer campaigns for our clients; manage our relationships with clients and business contacts; administer and enforce NDAs and other agreements; operate, secure and improve our website; and send business-to-business marketing about our services, where lawful.

6. Sharing your data

We may share personal data with: our clients (for example, sharing proposed creator lists and campaign reporting with the studio or publisher a campaign is for; where we share creator data with a client, it is for the purpose of delivering the relevant campaign); service providers acting on our behalf (including IT, hosting, database, e-signature and analytics providers who process data under our instructions); professional advisers (such as lawyers, accountants and insurers); authorities and regulators (where required by law); and a buyer or successor (if we sell, merge or reorganise our business, in which case the new owner may use personal data as set out in this notice).

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to process it only in accordance with our instructions and the law.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be based outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure a similar level of protection through an approved safeguard, either transferring to a country deemed adequate by the UK, or using approved contractual protections (such as the International Data Transfer Agreement). Contact us for more detail on the safeguards we use.

8. Data security

We have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. We limit access to personal data to those who need it, and they are bound by confidentiality. We have procedures to deal with any suspected data breach and will notify you and any regulator where legally required.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it, including any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Creator data in The Keep is retained while it remains useful for identifying and working with creators, and is reviewed periodically; we remove or update records that are no longer relevant. Client, contract and NDA records are retained for as long as needed to manage the relationship and to meet our legal obligations after it ends.

You can ask us to delete data we hold about you (see section 11). Where possible we may instead anonymise data so it no longer identifies you, in which case we may keep it indefinitely.

10. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function and to help us understand how the site is used. You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies; if you do, parts of the site may not work properly. Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete data; erase your data in certain circumstances; object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time; restrict our processing in certain circumstances; data portability (to receive certain data in a structured, machine-readable format); and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, email hey@guillotine.agency. You won't usually have to pay a fee. We aim to respond within one month; we may ask you to verify your identity first, and may extend the deadline for complex requests (we'll tell you if so). If you are a creator and would like us to remove your details from The Keep, contact us and we will action your request in line with the rights above.

12. Changes to this notice

We keep this notice under regular review and may update it from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to make you aware.
